I can imagine Darcy building an igloo in the snow if Elizabeth desired to eat outside then!
I used to love picnics. My parents, brothers and I used to go on the train to Belle Vue near Manchester in the fifties. There was a zoo and a funfair as well as ballrooms, a circus, Speedway and a dog racing track with a bowling alley added in the sixties.
We used to go to the zoo and have a couple of fairground rides and we always took a picnic. This consisted of bread and butter, tomatoes and hard boiled eggs followed by cake and fruit. Fabulous days!
The last one I went to was last month to celebrate my twin grandsons’ fifth birthday!
