Launch Fete Summary
It is Thursday, so we are midway through my Launch Fete week! This has been so much fun! Many of you have stepped up and gotten involved, hopefully being marvelously entertained in the process. But I know there are loads more of you lurking. What are you waiting for? Remember, a free book with your name on it is at stake! More importantly, at least to me, I want to hear the enthusiasm. Positive feedback is fabulous, I confess!
Just to sum up: Every comment counts. The more times you say something, anything, your name will be entered. You do not have to answer the quiz questions, grading will not be considered, and you do not have to share a story – doing that simply makes it more fun! The games are merely for your amusement and I do want to hear from all of you in any capacity, so don’t be shy. Every post dated from 2/23 through 3/1 is part of the launch giveaway. Even if you arrive today or not until Monday, add your comment! The contest portion closes at midnight (PST) on 3/3, but comments can always be made as the posts never leave. Answers and contest winners will be announced on March 4, so check back then.
Any questions or confusion, ask me. More is coming up in the remaining days, so keep checking back. Love you all!
***This short bit is not directly related to the Launch, but does involve the novel, so I had to share. As of today, Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy is ranked #30 in Historical Fiction on Amazon! This is amazing. The rank will fluctuate, of course, but just seeing it there for a brief moment is coolness! My editor and I spoke this morning and she is so excited. In fact, the entire crew at Sourcebooks is thrilled. I will be sharing some wonderful news regarding my future soon, but for now let me share this about the current novel:
-Target has extended their contract through April with more copies ordered. They have sold over 3700 copies as of last week!
-Barnes & Noble is reporting nearly 500 copies sold, even though their main shipments will not arrive until after March 1! They have officially added Mr. and Mrs. FD to their Mother’s Day promotion of Jane Austen-related novels. I will be sitting on the New Releases shelf until 4/8, and then on the Austen-promo table until 5/13. That is fantastic exposure!
Needless to say I am walking on a cloud right now! I simply cannot express to each of you who have purchased my novel how appreciative I am. Your faith, constant support, positive reviews especially on Amazon and places like GoodReads and Shelfari, and visits to my website and other blogs I am guesting on are what makes this possible for me. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. Your efforts, coupled with the stellar job that Sourcebooks is doing, is getting the word out so that more people will learn of my sweet, romantic tale of happily-ever-after. That is really what it is all about. A million times, thanks. Sincerely, Sharon
Sharon this news is spectacular!! What an accomplishment you have on your hands already and it has just begun!! Were your ears ringing last night? I was telling some girl friends about your book/books….one had just recently rewatched the movie and is so excited about getting her hands on a copy of your book. Many, many congratulations!!!
Sharon,
I just found your site, but CONGRATS! What exciting news!! 🙂
Congratulations Sharon on your book! I don’t know if you can understand Spanish but there is a saying…(Cosechas lo que tu siembras) is says that you harvest what you plant and that is that you have planted so many smiles in many people and this is what the outcome brings to you, many blessings!
I’m so happy for you because you are the best! Congrat’s again Sharon!!!!

Thank you ladies! It is all very exciting. It is a beginning that is hopefully auspicious of where I may be able to go in this business. Time will tell.
Kayla, I feel your pain! I know for a fact that another 50 or so would have sold if they had shipped more to my area! LOL! Everyone I work with or know at church and in my neighborhood are constantly lamenting the empty shelves. Makes me feel bad, but of course there is nothing I can do about it. Even Sourcebooks has no say in where Target sends the copies. At least now it is online and will very VERY soon be in other bookstores to a larger degree. Light at the end of the tunnel!
Yippy! That’s super exciting. I saw the book in Barnes and Noble last week and was excited. I was laughed at by the person I was shopping with, but that’s ok. Yay for this exicting news!! And this has been a super fun week with the posts, quizzes, etc. Congratulations!!
Yay for Sharon! Target would have sold a lot more than 3700 copies, if they had them in stock. I’ve been checking for weeks, but still nothing yet. 🙁 That’s why I’m so looking forward to the official launch date. Many blessing to you.
how wonderful for you Sharon; congrats (throws confetti and lets the helium balloons loose)
I bought the book! It was so nice to be able to read your story again!
Wow, CONGRATULATIONS, SHARON! That’s great news about Target, Barnes & Nobles, and Amazon. I’m so happy for you. You truly deserve nothing but the very best! May God continue to bless you with many more successes ahead of you esp. with the nationwide release, fast approaching and on its way next week! Congrats again! 🙂
I am currently doing a happy dance for you Sharon. Great News!
(A dance I must say only done for special times LOL!!! )
