Olivia Marjo: Our miniature poodle’s first 2 years
In January of 2018 I wrote a blog introducing our new fur-baby, a miniature poodle we named Olivia Marjo. That blog can be read by clicking the link below.
Meet the new member of my family: Olivia Marjo
As I suspected when writing that blog so soon after adopting Olivia, she kept us busy over the next two years! Thankfully, aside from the inevitable difficulties of potty training (quite swift and painless, over all) and the typical annoyances (vomiting grass and occasional excessive barking), Olivia has been the perfect pet. Her presence in our lives has been a pure joy every step of the way. My dreams of having a devoted pet always at my side have come true beyond my wildest imaginings. So much so that we adopted a second miniature poodle in November 2019! I shall talk about our second baby in a separate blog… yes, keeping y’all in suspense!
In between snapping a gazillion photos and recording numerous videos, I spent a lot of time compiling a scrapbook documenting the first 2 years with Olivia. The videos were made into a full-length movie documentary with Adobe Premiere Pro, which clocks in at 1 hour 47 minutes. We are seriously worse than first time parents of a human baby! I can’t share the video (even if I thought anyone wanted to be tortured in such a way) as the file is just too big. Besides, it was made for our pleasure rather than a cinema viewing experience.
The scrapbook of Olivia’s first 2 years is far from short at 80 pages cover-to-cover. I am quite proud of the album, and of my sweet Olivia, but honestly don’t expect anyone to examine it closely. Nonetheless, I was able to compress the file well enough to upload. The link below opens the PDF in a new browser screen. For best viewing, click the menu option in the upper right corner for “two page view” as seen in the image to the right.
Olivia Marjo, The First 2 Years
I will definitely talk more about our girls in future blogs, but the photo below is from July 2020, taken by my photographer husband and fellow poodle-parent. It is one of my favorite photos of Olivia Marjo and (sneak peak!) Audrey Rose.
