Literature Classics meet Monsters
Last week I highlighted novels mashing together Jane Austen with monsters of one sort or another, adding a bit of fun with two titles fabricated by me. Hehe…. That post is here: Austen Monster Mash and the fake titles & authors were #3 The Haunting of Pemberley by Elizabeth Drummant and #12 Anne Elliot: Vampire Hunter by Sam Morrison. So those two options are open for someone to write!
Not too surprisingly, Austen isn’t unique in the realm of classic literature or historical figures receiving the same treatment. Worlds of horror and sci-fi are colliding too! Below are titles of novels on the shelves today, from Bronte to Shakespeare, with zombies, robots, werewolves, and more wreaking havoc.
Robin Hood and Friar Tuck: Zombie Killers by Paul A. Freeman
The Undead World of Oz by Ryan C. Thomas
Alice in Zombieland by Nickolas Cook
William Shakespeare’s Star Wars Trilogy by Ian Doescher
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith
Little Vampire Women by Lynn Messina
Android Karenina by Ben Winters
Jane Slayre by Sherri Browning Erwin
Wuthering Bites by Sarah Gray
Grave Expectations by Sherri Browning Erwin
Night of the Living Trekkies by Kevin David Anderson and Sam Stall
Romeo & Juliet & Vampires by Claudia Gabel
Queen Victoria: Demon Hunter by A. E. Moorat
Henry VIII: Wolfman: A Novel by A. E. Moorat
The War of the Worlds, Plus Blood, Guts and Zombies by Eric Brown
Shakespeare Undead by Lori Handeland
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Zombie Jim by W. Bill Czolgosz
Snow White and the Seven Undead Dwarves by Bob McClain
George Washington, Werewolf by Kevin Postupack
The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde
What do you think? Have you read any of these? Are all these novels real? Or are some just too weird to be true?
