Austenesque blogging day: An Interview With Miss Georgiana Darcy
I am thrilled to be a part of the Austenesque Reviews August Extravaganza. The month has been filled with amazing essays, quizzes & games, giveaways galore, reviews, interviews, and so much more. Today is my post for Traveling Tuesday. Last year I wrote a whimsical piece titled An Interview With the Darcys as part of the blog tour for my third novel. Great interview, Sharon. Before your books I had read other P&P continuances but now I find that all the other books just don’t touch me like yours do. (Not to mention a little confusing to get an entire story line out of your head when it’s already there!). My mom and I just booked a trip to England for March 2012 and it’s your books that have inspired me to see in person what I have imagined so clearly thanks to your books. We only have 4 days so we’re not going to get to Chatham but some equally as lovely palaces in the Cotswolds are on our list. Thanks for all your writing! I’m anxiously awaiting the next one!

Lynn, How fabulous that you are heading to England! That is still my dream destination. We had hoped to make it this year but a wedding intervened. Maybe next year will be my golden year. I know the places I would HAVE to see, but there are also about a couple dozen others I would badly WANT to see. I know it is impossible to visit them all though.

Yes, my galleries are pretty awesome. I have been accumulating images for many years now and still add on to them now and again. I love historic images and being able to see what a place or thing looked like helps me so much in my writing.
I just love stories about Georgiana. She is one of my favorite minor characters (Col Fitz and Kitty being the others). I love the Darcy Saga and can’t wait to read Miss Darcy Falls in Love.
The Austenesque Extravaganza has been so much fun! And I look in at Austen Authors pretty much daily. It’s almost anniversary party time. 😀

Very nice, Sharon! I love the way Georgiana dances around the story of Wickham, and the whole concept of Jane’s cousin going around interviewing people is delightful.
Georgiana has developed a spunky attitude as she has grown up. Not the mouse any longer. At least not MY Georgiana. :Wink:
Sharon, great minds run along the same lines. My new novel is entitled The Disappearance of Georgiana Darcy. It’s a mystery, very much in the order of The Phantom of Pemberley. Therefore, we shan’t be competing. I do so hate it when that happens. Thanks for the lovely excerpt.
Never a competition between us, Regina. The world does not tire of great Austen, I don’t think. Some would say secondary characters are not as beloved as Lizzy and Darcy, and I suppose that is true to a degree, but I think people do love the other amazing characters that Jane gave us.

I’ve read and greatly enjoyed all of your books, Sharon. I can’t wait for “Miss Darcy Falls in Love.” She’s certainly grown as a character in your books, and it will be interesting to see her develop even more. The interviews with Jane Austen’s cousin are so clever!

That would be great! I love Dr. Darcy. As a former reporter, I know he would be a great interview, with lots of colorful quotes. I would ask him about India (of course) and his pioneering medical views — and his opinion of men’s fashion!
I’ve always loved a good sequel to Pride and Prejudice, but your novels are spellbinding. I get trapped in the novel and completely ignore people around me. In between the last book and the upcoming book, I have decided to read the entire Jane Austen collection by date of publication. I’ve been quite literally obsessed. Your books are fantastic and I’m counting down the days till November! Thanks for these little extras.
