sunshine congratulations

I will be contacting everyone as the day progresses. Be watching your emails! And a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who interacted with the Armchair BEA blogs and shared on various social media places. It was a terrifically fun week for me!

In other giveaway news, the only soul brave enough to tackle my Website Scavenger Hunt on May 16 was Luthien! So she too has won a copy of A Season of Courtship. Yeah!

Now, as promised, the answers to the Book to Movie Adaptations Quiz posted on May 30 for Armchair BEA Day#5–

A – 9  O Brother, Where Art Thou by the Coen Brothers is based on Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey.
B – 11  One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest was inspired by Ken Kesey’s job at a mental health facility.
C – 7  Stand By Me was based on Stephen King’s novella The Body.
D – 1 The holiday classic A Christmas Story was a book by Jean Shepherd based on her own childhood in Indiana.
E – 4  Field of Dreams came from W.P. Kinsella’s Shoeless Joe.
F – 12  Somehow Stephen King’s experience as a school janitor inspired the novel Carrie. I don’t think I want to know how!
G – 2  Blade Runner was the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick.
H – 6  John W. Campbell’s Who Goes There? set in Antarctica became The Thing.
I – 10 Insomnia inspired Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club.
J – 3  The Graduate, by Charles Webb, was somewhat autobiographical.
K – 5  The biggest surprise novel to movie for everyone, including me, was Die Hard an adaptation of a Roderick Thorp thriller.
L – 8  The Neverending Story originated as a German novel by Michael Ende.

Those who gave answers to the quiz got all of them correct.
Mega kudos to my movie fanatic brothers and sisters!

All the Armchair BEA posts, mine and the hundred-some-odd bloggers who participated can still be read and commented upon.

  1. Thanks a lot, Sharon. I’m surprised that no one else participate in the hunt as it is quite easy to find the answers if you know where to look. I downloaded the Kindle version of Darcy & Elizabeth: A Season of Courtship and am waiting for the free time to dive in and read.

  2. Hi Sharon. Just wanted to say a huge thanks for the Amazon gift voucher. Your email has arrived and it’s been redeemed. Just trying to decide now which of your books to buy with it!

I love to hear from you!
