I love hearing how your fateful trip to the movies led to this glorious saga you have written Sharon!

I too love the 2005 P&P by Joe Wright I think it was a beautifully done. Mainly I am ever grateful to Joe for creating a P&P that inspired you to write your Saga!
P&P is a wonderful story. A classic that everyone should try and read at least once. All the adaptations that arise because of JA’s masterpiece are my constant source of entertainment. For the past quarter of a century no less!
I derive a great deal of pleasure from each and every adaptation. My prayers were answered when you wrote a continuation of the life that I wanted for Darcy and Lizzy Sharon!
So instead of pointing out bits and pieces of things i love about the 2005 P&P or any others. I will just be eternally grateful that you watched it and was entranced enough by it, inspiring you to write my all time fav continuation of Darcy and Lizzy’s love story. Thank you xoxoxo

Yes, Sharon, I of course wholeheartedly agree with you about Pride and Prejudice 2005. It melds the senses, simply. Joe commented later in 2007 that revisiting it was "cathartic" and "delightful" to look at, and yes indeed, it certainly is.

It’s too bad some looked at it for the storyline alone because they have missed the point of it, totally. It’s simply a supurb piece of film art. And, those aren’t only my musings, but film students and other directors who know this film.

I thought interesting your comments about the "pristine" times and how Joe wanted to re-create a more realistic tone. As gritty or too real it may be for some in their BBC "mind’s eye", nevertheless, it’s is an artful and masterful film from a masterful director. It was his vision. He moved our senses away from what we were used to into a new realm. We remember too that he was firm about casting…thank goodness!!

Thanks for the revisit, Sharon.

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Hi Sharon!

Lovely post on why you loved the 2005 movie. I agree wholeheartedly with you. I think Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen were perfectly cast for their roles. I fell in love with the movie and cannot tell you how many times I have watched it since. Too numerous to mention. Because of this movie, I had to go out and purchase the book to read the original. I fell in love with the book and Jane Austen’s stories. I have since purchased all her books. I also watched all the movies when they were on Masterpiece Theatre.

Seeing the story of Lizzy and Darcy carried on in your books was a dream come true. I love the fact that you perceive their union as a happily ever after love story. I am so glad to see their story carried on in such a positive and loving way. Yes, I am a happily ever after person and very proud of that fact.

Thank you dear friend for giving us such wonderful stories to read and cherish.

Take care and God Bless.

Esther

PS: I’m happy to see the ‘countdown clock’ posted again on your website. That means the 3rd book will be arriving soon.

I loved your thoughts on the first time you saw P&P Sharon. It really is a beautiful movie to look at even before one starts discussing the storyline. Everyone was perfectly cast IMHO. And best of all it gave us your wonderful sequel!
